About the Role

Aetion is looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join our engineering organization. You will play a critical role in scaling our products with a focus on innovation and operational efficiency. As part of the Site Reliability Engineering team, your responsibilities will include owning our infrastructure, which is cloud-based and containerized, and managed through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will also be responsible for ensuring system reliability and uptime while leading engineering projects to improve our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform delivery and production support tasks, including monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues to ensure system reliability.
  • Streamline automation and processes to improve operational maturity.
  • Maintain Aetion's infrastructure with a focus on simplicity, innovation, and reliability.
  • Build and maintain robust development and deployment pipelines supporting CI/CD.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide effective production support.
  • Develop automation frameworks to support other development teams.
  • Contribute effectively to complex engineering projects while balancing operational duties.

About the Candidate

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or distributed systems.
  • 5+ years in software development, with proficiency in Python or Java and shell scripting.
  • 5+ years with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • 7+ years with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of security engineering and compliance programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Debugging and profiling Java applications.
  • Provisioning SQL databases and big data platforms.
  • Experience in the healthcare or banking industry regarding information security.
  • Knowledge of privacy and security certifications.
