About the Role

Finmas GmbH is on the lookout for a passionate Lead IT Architect Web Services / Rest APIs to join our team. In this role, you will be key in defining architecture principles and selecting appropriate technologies, ensuring long-term maintainability of our systems. You will work on the development of scalable, modular software systems using Java (Spring Boot) and integrate REST APIs for both internal and external use.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture: Define and enforce architectural principles, select suitable technologies, and ensure long-term maintainability of systems.
  • Backend Development: Develop applications using Java (Spring Boot), and design, develop, and integrate REST APIs.
  • Testing and Performance: Write tests for your code (End-to-End Testing, e.g., with Jest or Cypress) and optimize performance.
  • Collaboration & Team Leadership: Closely work with the UX/Design department and mentor the growing development team.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Solid experience in Java (Spring Boot) and REST API development.
  • Knowledge in end-to-end testing e.g., Jest or Cypress.
  • Experience in defining and implementing architectural principles and scalable, high-performance software systems.
  • Familiarity with common authentication methods (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT) and web security standards.
  • Competence in using version control systems (Git) and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to actively contribute to the development process.
  • Fluent German skills at least at C1 level.
