About the Role

Evlv is currently hiring for the position of Full Stack Engineer. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications for an outdoor apparel and accessories retailer based in Montreal (Hybrid Position). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences, mentor junior developers, and contribute to architectural decisions and best practices. Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring the quality and performance of our applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure full-stack web applications.
  • Build intuitive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).
  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases utilizing technologies such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver user-centric solutions.
  • Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability of applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to the tech stack.
  • Participate in system architecture and design decisions.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • 5 years of experience in full stack web development.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and at least one modern JS framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of PHP or Python, with strong experience in server-side languages and frameworks (Node.js, Django, Rails, ASP.NET, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, database systems (SQL & NoSQL), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile workflows.
  • Soft skills: Strategic and Analytical thinking, initiative, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
