About the Role

Aptiv is looking for an Algorithm Development Engineer to enhance our group focusing on algorithms for future ADAS solutions. Join us now and become a member of a team currently focusing on innovative solutions for a precise vehicle localization. ADAS algorithms are used to process sensor data (radars, vision, GNSS, etc.) and extract the information relevant to the driving context. This includes elements of the environment uniquely describing a particular location.

In this role, you will employ your creativity and expertise in information fusion and code implementation to deliver a localization solution enabling safer and more convenient driving. Your exact role in the team will be adjusted depending on your profile.

Your Role

  • Participate in the design of new driver assistance systems
  • Implementation of the software module responsible for novel localization solutions
  • Verify and optimize system performance using real data and experiments
  • Root cause identification and issue solving
  • Create technical documentation for design
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with global internal development teams
  • Occasional exposure to OEM customers via remote meetings, in-person demonstrations, and presentations
  • Occasional travels (global) for internal and external workshops

Your Background

  • MSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Control, Automation and Robotics, Electronics, Physics, or similar
  • Experience in software development using C/C++
  • Experience with unit testing in C++ (Google Test framework)
  • Experience in designing and implementing algorithms
  • Practical knowledge of Git version control system
  • Practical skills in a Linux environment (Ubuntu)
  • Experience in integration of robotic systems
  • Basic knowledge of statistics
  • Fluent command in spoken and written English

Highly Beneficial

  • Past experience in driver assistance systems
  • Experience in control system prototyping frameworks, e.g., Robotic Operating System
  • Experience in localization systems and algorithms, e.g., SLAM
  • Expertise in radar perception systems
  • Expertise in vision perception systems
  • Experience in configuration and release process for SW projects
  • Experience in software development using C/C++, Python, MATLAB
  • Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipelines
