About the Role
We are a Dutch recruitment agency based in Hilversum and we have been entrusted by a major banking client based in Amsterdam to find a talented Senior Front-end Engineer. This is a 36-40 hour per week role for a project that is expected to last 2-3 years. This position offers a hybrid working setup, requiring 2 days per week on-site. The project involves working on the global data store that supports various business applications, with our current team comprising 3 full-stack engineers, 2 operations engineers, and 1 product owner.

As a Senior Front-end Engineer, you will:

- Help maintain and support existing products and align with the squad’s goals.
- Contribute towards developing a realistic roadmap for your squad.
About the Candidate (Expectations and Nice to Have Skills)
We are looking for candidates with:
- 10 years’ experience in development/software engineering in agile settings.
- Strong command of the NodeJS ecosystem, JavaScript, and browser standards.
- Expertise in Vanilla JavaScript, CSS, and familiarity with WebComponents.
- Experience with class-based components (e.g., React Class Components or LIT).
- Familiarity with API schema design focusing on front-end performance.
- Competence with frontend build tools such as Webpack and Rollup.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience with CI/CD tooling, particularly Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of deployment processes and risk evaluation.
- Familiarity with design patterns such as Single Page Applications.
- Proficiency in testing methodologies and tools like TDD, BDD, Mocha, Chai, Selenium, and Karma.
