Senior IT Architect Web Services / Rest APIs (w/m/d)

About the Role

Finmas GmbH is looking for a Senior Backend Developer / Software Architect with a focus on Java/Spring Boot to join our team for the online banking platform of Sparkassen. This role entails the architecture, development, and optimization of scalable and modular software systems while working actively with the growing development team.

Responsibilities

• Architecture: Define and enforce architecture principles, choose suitable technologies, and ensure long-term maintainability.
• Backend Development: Develop applications using Java (Spring Boot) and create and integrate REST APIs for internal and external uses.
• Testing and Performance: Write tests for your own code (e.g., end-to-end tests using Jest or Cypress) and enhance application performance.
• Collaboration & Team Leadership: Work closely with internal UX/Design teams and mentor colleagues in the new growing development team.

About the Candidate

• Experience in Development: Solid experience in development with Java (Spring Boot) and expertise in designing and developing REST APIs.
• End-to-End Testing: Experience with end-to-end testing methodologies (e.g., Jest or Cypress).
• Architecture Implementation: Experience in formulating and implementing architecture principles and familiarity with scalable, modular software systems.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of common authentication methods (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT), web security (CORS, CSRF, XSS), and experience with version control systems (Git) and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI). Familiarity with Jetbrains Suite is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Ability to make independent decisions, contribute actively to the development of new features, and guide knowledge transfer through code reviews.
• Language Proficiency: German language skills at C1 level or higher.
