About the Role
In this position, you will take on a pivotal role by managing the continuous automation of the on-prem infrastructure at 50Hertz. As an innovation driver in the energy industry, 50Hertz is advancing the integration of renewable energies. Your main responsibilities as a System Engineer will include:
- Significant support in developing, establishing, and improving our GitOps infrastructure approach.
- Assisting domain experts in their automation processes, both through coaching and practical support in creating playbooks.
- Identifying and defining the global automation principles and processes, documenting and integrating them into ITSM tools.
- Maintaining and expanding our automation platforms and tools like GitLab, Ansible, AAP, and Python Framework.
- Ensuring the security, scalability, and high availability of the automation platforms.
- Contributing to high-availability operations through collaboration in the incident resolution process as part of 3rd level support (24x7).
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A degree or vocational training in computer science or a comparable field with several years of professional experience in a similar position, such as System Engineer or Senior System Administrator.
- Strong expertise in on-prem infrastructure automation for Linux, VMware, Citrix, Netapp, Windows, or Active Directory.
- Experience with automation tools like GitLab, Ansible, AAP, Python, and Terraform.
- A deep understanding of infrastructure management processes and how to streamline them through automation.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in training and mentoring colleagues on principles and practices of infrastructure automation.
- Language proficiency in German (C1) and English (at least B2).
