About the Role

The Data Science team designs and builds algorithmically driven features in the Datadog app. We focus on anomaly detection, error outliers, and faulty deployment analysis. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will design, build, and scale backend systems powering our suite of Watchdog products. You’ll be involved in large-scale distributed systems and data-processing frameworks, contributing to the next-generation platform for Data Science at Datadog.

What You’ll Do

  • Build common services and components encapsulating data science capabilities for leverage by other products and teams.
  • Enable new capabilities for core products by integrating and preprocessing data from various sources.
  • Ensure scaling of data science-driven features as we grow our customer base and data ingestion.
  • Improve performance and cost efficiency of data science services using modern tools.
  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists and software engineers to create beloved products for our customers.
  • Work across the stack with diverse programming languages and technologies.

About the Candidate

  • Experience in Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
  • Familiarity with microservices or distributed systems.
  • A simplicity-oriented approach to accomplishing tasks.
  • Previous work with high-volume data pipelines is a plus.
  • Senior candidates should have expertise in Python, Go or Scala, and knowledge of frameworks like Spark or Flink.
