Lead Java Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Java Developer to join our team for a significant project involving the migration of legacy systems to the cloud. The primary focus will be on transitioning from on-premises solutions to a cloud environment, specifically targeting AWS, while currently utilizing MS Azure as a vendor. This role offers a hybrid model, with 1-3 days per week working from the client's office in Gdansk or Krakow.

Responsibilities

• Engage in migration work from legacy systems to cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance existing systems and processes.
• Configure and manage SQL Server databases as part of the migration process.
• Participate in testing and support activities to ensure smooth transitions.
• Collaborate on identifying and addressing technical challenges during system migrations.

About the Candidate

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience.
• Experience with Front Office applications (e.g., Charles River, BlackRock Aladdin, or Bloomberg AIM) development is a must-have.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and experience with database configuration.
• Experience in support or testing roles, particularly in migration projects.
• Strong English communication skills (B2+ level).

Nice to have:

• Basic knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
• Understanding of system redesign and re-architecture principles.
• Familiarity with other programming languages.
