About the Role

DHL eCommerce Nederland is looking for an experienced Backend Developer with a background in JVM technologies such as Java and an interest in functional programming languages like Scala or Kotlin. Join us in creating innovative solutions for our business shippers by enhancing technologies that streamline shipping management. You'll be working on our My DHL Portal web application and its surrounding APIs, as well as integrations with customer platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrations that connect e-commerce platforms with our APIs.
  • Collaborate within scrum teams to deliver optimal results through agile methods.
  • Participate in 3-week sprints, with a focus on programming.
  • Contribute to a customer-centric approach to continuously improve our services and add valuable features.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives on building the future of delivery and takes pride in their work. You have:

  • At least 3 years of programming experience in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Java with Scala or Kotlin experience (JVM background required).
  • Experience crafting connections with APIs (json/rest).
  • Familiarity with continuous development and version control using GIT and Docker on a CI/CD pipeline in Azure.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases like Postgres is preferred.
  • Strong discipline in testing and writing automated tests to ensure quality.
  • Good command of both Dutch and English.
