As a Data Engineer at Meta, you will shape the future of people-facing and business-facing products across our applications like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Utilizing your technical skills and analytical mindset, you will design and build extensive datasets, crafting experiences for billions of users. You will collaborate with various teams to optimize growth, strategy, and user experience. Your role will involve tackling data challenges and ensuring data security and quality across our systems.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and manage data architecture for large-scale projects while assessing design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs.
- Create frameworks that enhance data logging efficacy and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to articulate data needs clearly and meaningfully.
- Define and manage Service Level Agreements for your allocated data sets.
- Implement security models based on privacy requirements and manage data quality issues.
- Design and launch sophisticated data models that support various use cases.
- Solve complex data integration challenges using optimal ETL processes and query techniques.
- Optimize existing processes in production and mentor team members through feedback.
About the Candidate
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- 4+ years of experience working with data in roles such as data analyst, data scientist, or data engineer.
- Proficiency in SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (Python, C++, C#, Scala, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field.
