About the Role

For one of our multidisciplinary DevOps teams within a governmental organization (Police), we are looking for a Senior Java Developer / DevOps Engineer. You will work on the development of an application based on Java technology, focusing on modernizing applications within a cloud-native environment. You will be part of a dedicated team that operates according to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and enhancing backend functionalities in Java.
  • Working on API connections and integrations (e.g., via Apache Camel).
  • Supporting frontend developments with Angular or React.
  • Setting up and maintaining test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborating with Product Owners, architects, and other DevOps teams.
  • Actively contributing to technical decisions and team improvements.
  • Contributing to the professionalization of DevOps processes.

About the Candidate (Expectations and Nice to Have Skills)

You are a driven and experienced developer who enjoys working in a team on high-quality software solutions. You prioritize quality, security, and maintainability, and feel at home in an Agile environment.

What do you bring?

  • At least 4-5 years of experience with Java.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge of or experience with Apache Camel, API design, and integration issues.
  • Affinity with frontend development (Angular or React).
  • Interest in deepening your knowledge of modern technologies such as Kotlin and/or Quarkus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Excellent spoken and written Dutch; English is also fine.
  • Willingness to contribute to team growth and continuity for the long term.
