About the Role

The Infra Operations Products & Services(IOPS) team is part of Enterprise Infrastructure and Security (EIS) under the Enterprise Engineering Organization. In EIS, we provide robust backbone infrastructure for Meta employees and vendor partners. The aim of IOPS is to enhance the productivity of infra teams by creating products and solutions that ease infrastructure operations.

As a Software Engineer, Infrastructure, you will:

  • Design core, backend software components
  • Code using primarily Python, Javascript, PHP, and Hack
  • Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa
  • Conduct design and code reviews
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
  • Establish yourself as an owner of a specific component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding
  • Successfully complete large scope projects while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity

About the Candidate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language
  • 6+ years of experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, or Hack
  • Experience in designing, analyzing, and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of system resources
  • Proven experience in owning a component, feature, or system
  • Demonstrated ability to build and ship high-quality work with a focus on reliability
  • Ability to set technical direction for a team and drive consensus across functions
  • Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Java
