About the Role
The SimAI platform is a SaaS AI-based technology that brings unprecedented speed, innovation, and accessibility to simulation. It is based on proprietary Deep Learning algorithms at the forefront of AI state of the art. As a Senior R&D Engineer, you'll contribute to developing the core services of this platform, using modern tools (Python sync/async, Elixir, Rust, Postgres). You'll be solving complex problems, improving infrastructure, and ensuring the platform's architecture effectively utilizes computing resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements
- Design, implement, maintain, and test backend services, incorporating new parts as needed.
- Conduct bug qualification and release testing.
- Enhance backend service performance, optimizing database access patterns and schemas.
- Ensure advanced observability and service composability of the platform.
- Modularize the backend architecture while prioritizing coding efficiency.
- Improve infrastructure resilience through load testing and staged service interruptions.
About the Candidate
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years' experience, MS with 3 years' experience, or PhD with 1 year of experience.
- Software development experience in open-source or professional environments.
- Deep knowledge of databases and proficiency in multiple programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for elegant software design.
- Familiarity with asynchronous architectures, message exchanges, and data-intensive applications.
- Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with a geographically distributed team.
